Garden on Veranda

A Home Garden Through the Seasons

Nature has its own rhythm, unfolding each day.

A new leaf appears, a flower opens, rain settles on the foliage, and a familiar corner takes on a different character. From a veranda or window, these small changes become part of everyday life.

A garden does not have to be large. A few pots, flowering plants, vines and herbs can bring colour and greenery into a home, creating a space that changes naturally with the seasons.

Flowers, rain and changing light

Some plants flourish in the morning light, others prefer a little shade. Some bring flowers for a few weeks; others provide greenery throughout the year. Getting to know these differences is part of the pleasure.

There are flowers that announce themselves with colour, and others that are noticed only when one pauses to look closely. After rain, leaves appear brighter. New growth emerges almost overnight. A familiar plant can surprise you after months of looking much the same.

A little garden for kitchen

The garden also finds its way into the kitchen.

Mint for a cool drink.
Coriander for dinner.
Curry leaves for a hot tempering.

Small harvests, but a lovely connection between what grows outside and what comes to the table.

A garden worth returning to

Over time, the plants become familiar—their seasons, their habits, the places where they grow best. Gardening becomes less about arranging a collection of plants and more about watching a living space develop.

This is where the garden stories of Monsoon & Mint begin.

There will be flowers and foliage, herbs and trees, seasons and rain, successes and lessons learnt along the way. Some will be practical, some simply beautiful, and some will be observations gathered from living with these plants.

Because a home garden is never really finished.

It grows, changes and surprises us—and there is always something new to see.
